Insurance & Financing
Dealing with dental costs is stressful enough without having to decode your insurance policy on your own. We handle a lot of that for you. When insurance doesn’t cover everything, we have options for that too.
Below is everything you need to know about paying for care at Brittmoore Dental.
Dental Insurance
PPO Plans Welcome. HMO Plans Not Accepted.
We work with PPO dental insurance plans only. If your plan is HMO, we’re not able to bill them directly. You’re still welcome as a patient and we’ll give you documentation you can submit yourself.
Out-of-network PPO patients are also welcome. Most PPO plans still reimburse a portion of your costs even when the dentist is out-of-network, and our team will help you navigate that.
In-Network Carriers
We’re currently in-network with the following PPO plans:
- Aetna (PPO)
- Ameritas (PPO)
- Beam (PPO)
- Blue Cross Blue Shield (PPO)
- Cigna (PPO)
- Colonial Life (PPO)
- Delta Dental (PPO)
- GEHA (PPO)
- Guardian (PPO)
- Humana (PPO)
- MetLife (PPO)
- Principal (PPO)
- United Health Care (PPO)
Don’t see your carrier? Call us. We’re adding plans regularly and the list above may not be current by the time you read this. Our insurance specialist can verify your specific plan over the phone.
Our Dedicated Insurance Specialist
We have a team member on staff whose job is specifically to help patients with insurance, not a front desk person who “also handles insurance,” but someone focused on it full-time.
They can tell you what your plan covers before your appointment, help you sequence treatment to maximize annual benefits, submit claims on your behalf, and follow up if there’s a dispute or delay.
We’re direct about what’s covered and what isn’t. No surprises on the bill.
Payment Options
Accepted Payment Methods
We accept cash, personal checks, and all major credit cards. That covers most situations, but for larger procedures, we also offer financing.
Patient Financing
For implants, full mouth reconstruction, and other higher-cost procedures, we offer two third-party financing options. Both let you apply online and get a decision quickly, usually before your appointment.
CareCredit
CareCredit is a healthcare credit card accepted at thousands of dental offices and medical providers. Many plans offer promotional financing periods. Check the terms when you apply.
Sunbit
Sunbit is a buy-now pay-later option built for healthcare. It’s designed to approve more people, including those who may not qualify for traditional credit, and decisions come back in seconds.
In-House Payment Plans
For major procedures like implants, full mouth reconstruction, and complex surgical cases, we can sometimes arrange a custom payment schedule directly with the practice. This is handled case by case.
If cost is a concern, bring it up at your consultation. We’d rather work something out than have you skip treatment you need.
No Insurance? That's Fine.
A significant part of our patient base comes in without dental insurance. Self-pay patients get the same care, the same pricing transparency, and the same access to discounts and financing.
If you’re uninsured or your coverage has lapsed, you can still use CareCredit or Sunbit, and you’ll automatically qualify for the 5% cash or check discount if you pay that way.
We’ve been serving Houston for over 20 years and have always aimed to make good dental care accessible across different financial situations. That’s not a tagline. It’s just how we’ve operated.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you bill insurance directly?
Yes, for all in-network PPO plans. For out-of-network PPO plans, we can provide the paperwork you need to submit a claim yourself.
Can I find out my coverage before the appointment?
Yes. Call us at (713) 464-1887 and our insurance specialist will contact your carrier ahead of time. We’ll tell you what’s covered, what your out-of-pocket estimate looks like, and flag anything worth knowing.
What if my treatment costs more than my annual maximum?
That’s common, especially for implants and reconstruction. Once you hit your annual max, we can discuss timing remaining treatment into the next plan year, or apply financing to the uncovered balance.
Do you accept Medicaid or Medicare dental?
No. We don’t participate in Medicaid or Medicare dental programs. If you’re on Medicare and have a supplemental dental plan through a private insurer, check whether it’s a PPO. If so, call us and we’ll verify coverage.
